JAMMU, Dec 8: In an endeavour to curb the menace of gambling in the society, police post Residency Road claimed to have arrested three gamblers from the roof top of a hotel, who were pivotal in spreading the menace of gambling in the area.
Police spokesman said that a police team headed by SI Ashwani Kumar Incharge Police Post Residency arrested three persons namely Shoket Ahmad Ganai, Bashir Ahmad and Irshad Ahmad, all resident of village Garkote Distt-Uri.
Further, stake money of Rs 20,000 and playing cards were also recovered from their possession. All the three gamblers were booked under section 13 Gambling Act. The operation was carried out under the guidance of Inspector Vishal Sharma-SHO City police station. |
