Home department likely to transfer over half dozen SSPs, SPs | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Dec 8: Following the completion of panchayat elections, the State Home department is likely to order transfer of Senior Superintendents of Police (SSPs) and Superintendents of Police (SPs). According to sources privy to the development, transfer of over half dozen Senior Superintendents of Police (SSPs) and Superintendents of Police (SPs) in Jammu and Kashmir police department is on cards as the process was ceased due to Panchayat Elections. "Due to code of conduct in imposition, the process of transfer of cops was kept on hold to avoid violation of model code of conduct," said sources, adding that the important positions like SSP Vigilance Jammu and SSP Jammu, which have fallen vacant after they were promoted as incharge Deputy Inspector Generals (DIGs) of Police. Sources in the Police Headquarters (PHQ) and Home Department also revealed that names of the District Chiefs who have completed their two year terms have also been proposed for shuffling. "The name of such officers, who have completed the term of two years has been proposed for the transfer," said sources, adding that few officials are likely to face axe owing to their poor performance. Meanwhile, the officers concerned have already started lobbying for their prime posting. |
