Nepotism galore in selection of teachers for ZRP, CRP posts
12/8/2018 10:57:07 PM
Early Times Report
Jammu, Dec 8: The Zonal Education Officer (ZEO) Basohli has prepared a list of teachers/masters for work as Zonal Resource Persons (ZRP) and CRPs but the list is replete with the names of some blue-eyed as well as relatives of an official working at tehsil office.
Sources divulged that 25 teachers and masters made it to the list but favouritism appeared to be the sole criteria for selection. The ZRP and CRP have to visit the government schools and have to check various activities in schools including SSA schools functioning and other activities but actually their posting as ZRP and CRP, simply means they would enjoy their attachment at ZEO office Basohli and stay away from teaching in the schools.
"Teachers desire to be posted as ZRP and CRP as it becomes a safe retiring destination for them, so they use their influence to get selected as ZRPs and CRPs", an official said.
A total of six teachers, who are relatives and close to an official in tehsil office Kathua, have made it to the list. These teachers are Sunita Kumari, Anurag Koushal, Meenakshi Sharma, Parivartan Koushal and Archana Khajuria.
Moreover, some of the teachers, who had recently joined the department, have also got their names in the list which included Vishal Anand, Sushil Kumar and Mohinder Singh, who had joined the department in the year 2016.
Moreover, more than one teacher from one school have also been proposed for the selection which include Manmohan Pal and Narayan Dutt, both posted in HS Chenkhar.
Whereas Subash Singh, posted in PS Tolla has been clubbed with UPS Baharlachogan and his actual place of posting is UPS Baharlachogan. Subash Singh and Neelam Kumari from UPS Baharlachogan have been proposed for selection. If both are be selected the UPS Baharlachogan will close down due to absence of any staff.
Usually, teachers with lot of working experience are selected for the job but a simply class 12th pass teachers Rahul Thakur's name was also proposed for ZRP/CRP list.
Sources said that time and again Chief Education Officers have cancelled all the attachments in the ZEO officers but once again, such activities have been restarted in ZEO Basohli office.
ZEO Basohli, Ayub Bhat as well as CEO Kathua Bishan Singh were not available for comments despite repeated attempts.
