| DB issues directive in PIL regarding center for organ transplant | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Dec 8: In a Public Interest Litigation filed by Smile Social Youth Club through its President Matloob Saleem Qureshi raising the issue of organ transplant, Division Bench of State High Court Comprising Chief Justice Gita Mittal and Justice Tashi Rabstan observed that present Public Interest Litigation is pending in this Court since the year 2013. None has bothered to examine the lack of the legislative regime which is essential for setting up the centres. As a result thereof not even a single tissue and organ transplant centre has been established in the State of J&K. This critical aspect needs immediate consideration of the law makers. DB directed that the copy of this order be placed before the Chief Secretary of the State for immediate consideration. |
