BLSKS organises one week awareness campaign on "Prevention of AIDS"

JAMMU, Dec 27: In continuation of one week special campaign on "Prevention of AIDS" to aware the masses Bhartiya ok Sangeet kala Sansthan in close coordination with J&K State Aids Control Society , Department of Health and Medical in of one week special Awareness campaign to aware the masses. In the coordination with J&K State Aids Control Society, Department of Health and Medical Education, Govt. of Jammu & Kashmir presented Special Program at far flung Village at Govt. High School, Department of Education, Kotli Tanda Block Akhnoor, The programe was inaugurated by the Chief Guest Reva Kumari, Headmaster, Govt. High School , Kotli Tanda , Akhnoor and Pritam Lal and Ashok Kumar Sharma, Senior Teacher were Guest of Honour. Earlier, BLSKS presented programs at Govt. Boys High School, Department of Education, Akhnoor and Sub Distt. Hospital Department of Health and Medical Education , Akhnoor . The special guest were Gauri Ram, Vice Principal and Dr. Deepak Sharma Sr. Lecturer were present on the occasion. The programe was highly appreciated by the audience. During the campaign the artists of BLSKS would cover the other Blocks like R.S. Pura and Dansal . The Chief Guest said HIV isn't spread through casual contact with other people, such as hugging, sharing cutlery or shaking hands - the virus simply doesn't survive long outside of the body. It's also not spread through sweat, tears, vomit, faeces or urine. The virus is spread by means of direct contact with an infected person's semen, vaginal fluid, blood or breast milk. HIV is most commonly spread through unprotect vaginal, anal and oral sex. It's also often spread by people who inject drugs (and who use the same needles as an infected person) & BLSKS in creating awareness on the subject by staging colorful cultural programs comprising of skits / dances / songs etc & also urged the artists /cultural organizations to contribute in enriching of the cultural heritage of the country and inspiring the younger generation to follow the foot prints of their elders in preserving the composite culture of the Nation. Welcoming the dignitaries M.L. Dogra, Chairman , BLSKS explained about the Ideally, a health facility should have one Integrated Counseling and Testing centre for all groups of people. However, an ICTC is located in facilities that serve specific categories such as high risk group, pregnant women, STI cases, TB Patients, HIV/ AIDS symptomatic patients. Accordingly, an ICTC is located in the General OPD or Obstetrics and Gynecology Department of a medical college or a district hospital or in a maternity home where the majority of clients can access counseling and testing services. The singers, musician and actors who performed were Gauri Lal , Rajni Gupta, Usha Handoo , Kuldeep Raj , Neelam Gandotra, Raju Bajgal, Sanjeev Sodhi and students ,teachers, youths and general public were. K.K.Joshi , Troupe Incharge, BLSKS presented vote of thanks for successful conduction of the program.
