VIJAYPUR, Dec 27:: A langar (community kitchen) was organized to commemorate the martyrdom of Sahibzadas Zorawar Singh and Fateh Singh here today at Accidental Hospital.
The programme, which was organized by the Gurdwara Prabandhak Committee Vijaypur, witnessed participation of a large number of Sikh youth of Vijaypur and its adjoining areas. The enthusiastic youth served milk to the people who were coming to the hospital. It is worth recalling that the Sahibzadas were martyred when they refused to embrace Islam. The Governor of Sarhind at the time of Mughal rule ordered their execution for not embracing Islam.
Among others present on the occasion were Principal Gurdeep Singh, Harjit Singh, Kulwinder Singh, Amrit Pal Singh, Arjun Singh Mintu, Hardeep Singh (Deepu) and Kamal Singh. |
