Rajouri, Jan 16: On the second day of the three day long awareness campaign, Regional Outreach Bureau, Ministry of Information & Broadcasting, Government of India organized a day long programme on 'Drug Abuse and Its Ill Effects' at Government Industrial Training Institute, Kalakote. The aim of the programme was to spread awareness among masses about the severe effects of drug abuse on our communities and families, physical and mental health and behavior of people. A series of IEC activities were included in the programme viz. Drawing competition, Presentation of Skits and Mimes, Expert lectures by Resource persons, Seminar in the presence of Jb. Javed Ahmad, Principal Govt. ITI Kalakote, Mustaj Ahmad, SHO, Kalakote, Dr. Abdul Rehman, Medical Officer Kalakote, Rohit Sharma, Asst. ICDS, Kalakote, Ram Lal, Performer, ROB, Jammu and other staff members of ITI Rajouri. Javed Ahmad in his address urged the students and the teachers to come forward to help those who are drug addict. He was of the view that parents can prove to be the best guides to those who are drug addict. He said that it is the moral duty of every citizen of India to come forward and contribute towards the fight against drug menace. Mustaj Ahmad SHO Kalakote in his address said that drug abuse is a curse for the society it effects the family and social life of human being. He also enlightened the gathering about NDPS Act against drug prevention. He enlightened the gathering about the ill effects of drug abuse on social and family life of people. He said that there is provision of rehabilitation in Govt Hospitals. |
