Jammu, Jan 16: A seven member delegation of Jammu Kashmir Sharnarthi Action Committee (JKSAC) led by Gurdev Singh President called upon Farooq Ahmed Shah, Secretary Disaster Management, Relief and Rehabilitation. Suraj Parkash, Additional Secretary was also present. Shah was apprised in detail about all the major issues concerning the One time settlement of DPs of 1947 from POK viz-a-viz compensation for the left out properties, reservation for their wards in jobs and educational institutions, compensation for the left our families having deficiency in allotted land, utilization of Rs 2000 crores year-marked for identification of land to allot plot to the remaining Urban DPs families, mutation of lands under DPs dwelling, immediate release of funds for more than 6000 beneficiaries awaiting relief from the last more than 3 months awaiting relief. Presenting his views regarding the above said issues regretted that their legitimate issues has never been properly understood and projected in right prospective with the result that they could not resolve from the last six decades. The DPs has suffered immense loss and are knocking the doors of all the dispensations for justice. He was told that Rs 5.5 lakhs is in no way match with their loss of life an properties they left in POK. The amount looks charity as it has been calculated without any logic. He urged upon him to prepare a comprehensive roadmap for further submission to Governor taking into account the recommendation of Joint Parliamentary Committee on Home Affairs. He was further apprised that more than 6000 beneficiaries have not been provided relief despite of appearing on the net from last than more than 3 months due to paucity of funds. |
