JTC, SKF demand one time settlement for KPs | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Jan 16: A Joint meeting of Jagti Tenement Committee (JTC) and Soan Kashmir Front (SKF)/ PCC Migrant Cell J&K was held here today under the Chairmanship of Shadi Lal Pandita, President JTC, SKF/ Co-Convenor PCC Migrant Cell J&K. The meeting was attended by the office bearers and members. During the course of meeting different issues related to Kashmiri Pandit community were discussed in detail and the participants have expressed their grave concern over the attitude of the Government both at State level as well as Central Level for ignoring the Kashmiri Pandit Community. While addressing the participants Shadi Lal Pandita said that State Government and Government of India lead by Narinder Modi as its Prime Minister has failed to fulfill the commitments made to the Kashmiri Pandit Migrant Community during past Parliamentary Elections by the leaders of the BJP. Pandita has said that this community has been ignored and deprived of all basic facilities and rights. Pandita has further said that though the leaders of BJP had made commitment for ensuring safe return of the Kashmiri Pandit Migrant Community to Kashmir valley and their permanent rehabilitation for living a dignified life but nothing in this direction has been made. Pandita has demanded that one time compensation be granted to the Kashmiri Migrant families for the losses suffered by them during past about 30 years of Migration due to damages to their properties in Kashmir valley approximately to the tune of Rs.4.00 lacs per year per family. Pandita has also demanded release of balance exgratia compensation to the beneficiaries whose residential houses had been gutted in militancy related activities in Kashmir valley. |
