Kathua, Jan 23: Financial Inclusion & Insurance Department, J&K Grameen Bank under the chairmanship of Janak Raj Angural and in collaboration with NABARD has conducted Financial Literacy programmes at unbanked villages namely Nagri, Kukechak and Bhaga Chak in district Kathua, under the Branch Office Nagriparole, Changran and Jakhbar respectively. Des Raj Baru, AEO (Agriculture Extension Officer), who was chief guest on the occasion, highlighted the various schemes offered to the farmers by the bank and appreciated the contribution of bank in developing the agriculture in the state. Dev Raj Sharma, Manager Regional Office Kathua & Samba spoke on cashless economy and guided people to make transactions without having cash in hand. He enlightened people about new technologies available in the bank such as multiple uses of bank cheques, use of PoS machine, Rupay debit card, KCC Rupay debit card, net banking, mobile banking services, IMPS, Aadhaar based transactions etc. He told them about the merits and demerits of using such services and precautions to be taken care of while utilizing such facilities and advised people not to get trapped in fake calls, which is very common trend used by some fraudulent person's active in the market. R.S Jasrotia, BH Nagriparole, Varun Sharma, BH Changran , Roop Lal Sharma, BH Jakhbar at their respective programmes told the gathering about various lending schemes tailored by the bank for general public available on easy EMIs such as Housing loan, Transport loan, Car loan, Education loan etc. where rate of interest charged by the bank is very competitive. Rupay debit cards were also distributed to the customers. |
