| GDC AKhnoor to organize week long awareness programme | | |  Early Times Report
AKHNOOR, Jan 23: The Government Degree College Akhnoor, is organizing a week long awareness programme on "Beti Bachao Beti Padhao".
Lectures will be delivered by various resource persons during this week long exercise to create awareness among the students about this sensitive issue. Principal of the College Prof. Kuldeep Raj Sharma spoke on the occasion and emphasized the need for the change of mindset of people at large. He said that a lot has been spoken about this issue but the time for execution and implementation of the innovative ideas has come by involving all the members of the society. A lecture on Women's Rights was delivered by Prof. Pooja Charak Deptt. of Pol. Science. She spoke about the constitutional and legal provisions for women under specific acts like POSCO and PNDT. Prof. DN Sharma Department of Computer Science spoke about the financial literacy and cashless transactions for women. Also present on the occasion were Prof. Tarsem Lal, Prof. Ashok, Prof. Sanjay Singh Samyal, Prof. Jyoti Sharma, Prof. Pavanjeet Bali, Prof. Sonia Bhau, Prof. Harmeet Singh, Prof. Mussarat Choudhary and Ms. Meenakshi.
