BJP's divided Kashmir unit to show unity to PM

SRINAGAR, Feb 2: Two days after fighting each other, the BJP Kashmir leaders will show a united face before Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday.
The Prime Minister will be on one-day visit to state on Sunday. This is Modi's first visit to the state after the collapse of the BJP-PDP coalition government in June last year.
During his visit in Kashmir, he would stay at SKICC Srinagar, where he would meet a selective gathering of Sarpanches and BJP workers. Surprisingly, the BJP leaders, who have been fighting open, will show a united face before the Prime Minister.
"150 BJP workers led by Kashmir Incharge Affairs Sunil Sharma will meet the Prime Minister. Sofi Yusuf and Ali Mohammad Dar will also be part of the delegation," a BJP source said.
The duo recently leveled serious allegations against each other. "The leaders recently spill beans against each. The national leadership seems to be least bothered about this whole issue," the source said.
The source said there are several leaders, who have also complained to party leadership about the internal rift between leaders. "But this rift has become a major issue before the polls," the source said.
The source said that BJP leaders will try to show a united face before the Prime Minister ahead of parliamentary and assembly polls. "There is already rivalry between the leaders. They have been openly opposing against each other. But today, they want to show a united face," the source said. The state assembly was dissolved by Governor Satya Pal Malik on November 21 citing the "impossibility of forming a stable government by the coming together of political parties with opposing political ideologies" and the "fragile security scenario in the state".
The Jammu and Kashmir Assembly has a six-year term while other assemblies and the Lok Sabha have a five-year term. Malik dissolved the assembly shortly after People's Democratic Party leader Mehbooba Mufti staked claim to form a government with the support of the National Conference and the Congress.
Two day before, a high voltage drama was witnessed when Sufi Yusuf and Ali Mohammad Dar fought an open.
BJP Vice President, Avinash Rai Khanna was supposed to address a press conference here while BJP's Ali Mohammad was asked by the other party leaders to go to Srinagar airport and receive Khanna. Ali was told that the press conference would be jointly addressed by Khanna, Sofi Yusuf and him. Following the directions, Ali went to the airport in order to receive the BJP Vice President. Owing to the inclement weather the flight carrying Khanna could not land at the Srinagar airport and his programme was cancelled.
Ali had expected that he would reach and address the press conference along with Yusuf. However, his hopes were dashed as Yusuf addressed the press conference in his absence. Ali entered into heated argument with Yusuf. Both Ali and Yusuf raised serious allegations against each other and also hurled choicest of invectives on one another. They raised allegations against each other and accused one another of holding on to the chair.
