NCC Cadets visit inmates of Old Age Home Kathua | | | Early Times Report KATHUA, Feb 5: NCC Cadets of GDC For Women, Kathua visited inmates of Old Age Home,Kathua as part of efforts of NCC Directorate to imbibe a sense of responsibility towards society. The cadets of 2nd Girls Batallion J & K visited local Bal Asham at Kathua and took first hand insight into the lives of citizens residing there. The cadets interacted with senior citizens and enquired about their well being. Most of the inmates got emotional because of aloofness they suffer being away from their families. A medical check up was also done by Dr Sachin with an aim to look into general health status of the inmates of old age home.The cadets distributed eatables and medicines amongst amongst inmates. The visit was conducted in the supervision of NCC Incharge Dr Rajni Sharma who said that the whole purpose of this visit was to make cadets sensitive and aware towards geriatric issues as our elders are asset to our society. She said that in this ongoing efforts for imbibing spirit of social responsibility more such visits to shall be organised in future. |
