Early Times Report JAMMU, Feb 5: The RO plant of Nephrology department, Super Specialty Hospital Jammu, is non-functional for last few months thus subjecting the patients to inconvenience. Moreover, almost half of the dialysis machines are not working properly but nothing has been done to fix the problems. Sources within the hospital told that despite dysfunctional RO Plant, a few machines have been run by the concerned authority and if they keep running the machines without fix the RO problem, the same would be nonfunctional soon. "For last four to five months, the service of the RO plant is pending and AMC is also not done due to which the plant often goes non-functional," sources added. Sources further told that a private company asked concerned authority to replace a part of the machine to set things in order. Sources added the victims have taken up matter a number of times with concerned authority but no efforts were made to solve the problems so that the needy and poor patients would avail the facilities without any trouble. A patient, whose both kidneys are damaged, told that he was getting dialysis done in the SSH Jammu for last one year but hardly he has faced the problems but last some months, his dialysis being delayed deliberately. "For last some months, I have done dialysis from private clinics where private clinics do charge as per their wish. A number of poor patients do not bear the cost of private clinics and rely on government runs hospitals, "he stated, adding that due to longer delay putting patients lives at danger but who cares, neither government nor concerned authority. |
