DPS Nagbani holds healthy food session | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Feb 14: To create awareness among the students among the students about healthy and hygienic food, a session was conducted in Delhi Public School Nagbani, Jammu today. The resource person of the session was Sangeet Aryan who not only explained about the healthy food to be eaten but also how it should be cooked. She informed the students by demonstrating on how to make food healthier, either through the techniques one can apply for cooking or of the choice of ingredients. She stressed on the inclusion of raw fruits and vegetables in their daily diet. She said that they should contribute to the wellness of themselves that aims to make everyday cooking with more conscious and aware of health by showing how with small and simple changes a lot can be achieved when it comes to preparing healthy food. She explained that steaming of food takes place at a much lower temperature than frying and baking. Thus a higher nutrient value is retained in the food. The Principal of the school R. K. Verma said that the purpose of such type of programmes is to encourage healthier eating habits among the students right from their young age. |
