Jammu, Feb 14: Free medical camps are set up with a sacred aim to bring awareness among the deprived population of the country who have no access to basic healthcare services or knowledge about the diseases they are suffering from. Following the tradition Indian Red Cross Society, Jammu Region has organised a free Medical/ Health check-up camp in and around different areas for the Truck drivers and others who got stuck at Jammu-Srinagar Highway due to heavy snowfall in the valley. A Mobile Medical unit along with Medical, Para-Medical staff examined around 162 patients and made sure that the stranded passengers requiring immediate medical assistance is given to them. The team of professionals included Dr. Shamim Akhter, Dr. Kavita Nijhon Medical Officer, Red Cross Dispensary, Jammu assisted by Sangeeta Devi, FMPHW along with Joginder Kumar, Pharmacist. |
