JAMMU, Feb 14: All Party Action Committee Chenab Valley Autonomous Hill Dev. Council members Ram Singh Chauhan and Sheikh Mohd Shafi have expressed great shock and anguish over the marooning and untold miseries of people of entire Chenab valley following recent snowfall. "All main as well as local live roads have been snapped, essential commodities exhausted, dearth of life saving drugs, shortage of LPG / Kerosene etc have made the life of people like hell", they said, adding, this is solely because all traditional political parties paid no heed to the long lasting miseries of people of the area for the first 70 years. It is said that Chenab river having a capacity of more than 20,000 Mega Watt, is reeling under darkness for last 7 days, they said. The duo further said that the only solution of the age old miseries of the people of the entire Chenab valley is the grant of Chenab Valley Hill Dev. Council on Leh & Kargil pattern through constitutionally guaranteed mechanism of governance in a democratic manner. They urged upon the Governor to kindly look into the age old grievances of this most backward, hilly, snow bound, remote and backward area and grant Chenab Valley Hill dev. Council as the only way for the solution of age old miseries on Leh & Ladkh pattern through an ordinance. |
