PIL seeking ban on PUBG game | HC issues notices to State, UOI | | Early Times Report Jammu, Feb 14: A Division Bench of State High Court Comprising Justice Rajesh Bindal and Justice Tashi Rabstan issued notice to Union of India through Secretary Ministry of Women & Child Development, Union of India through Secretary Ministry of Ministry of Information Technology, Union of India through Secretary Ministry of Human Resource Development and Chief Secretary J&K in PIL seeking ban of PUBG Game. The notices were accepted by Assistant Solicitor General of India Vishal Sharma on behalf of Union of India and AAG Amit Gupta on behalf of Chief Secretary. The notices were issued in letter written by 7th class student Kushagra Sharma of Air Force School Satwari to Chief Justice which has been treated as Public Interest Litigation. Division Bench observed that the issue raised by the young child is that lot of students are becoming addict to many games which are now freely available on mobile phones. Name of one of the game mentioned in the letter is PUBG. Because of addiction to play the games, the students waste their lot of time which otherwise could be utilized for their studies or other constructive purposes. It is further submitted that Supreme Couyrt of India had to intervene to press upon the Govt of India to block availability of certain contents on web which was not good for the society as such, especially for children. DB after considering the letter issued notice to the Union of India as well as Chief Secretary of J&K. |
