JKNPP Supremo seeks abolition of Article 370 | | | Agencies New Delhi, Feb 18: Chief patron of J&K National Panthers Party (JKNPP) has sought abolition of Article 370, for complete merger of state with Union of India. The NPP Supremo expressed shock that the real message which he has been trying to convey to the countrymen and the world for more than 50 years has not been extended. "Let the whole world understand and my countrymen also that I have not been made a permanent citizen of J&K as temporary Article 370 does not permit/allow the Parliament of India to legislate/make laws in respect of Defence, Foreign Affairs, Communication & Allied Matters", he said, adding that all the three subjects were handed over to the Union of India by the then Ruler of J&K on October 26, 1947. Several rulers like Hyderabad and Junagarh have never signed the Instrument of Accession. He said that he has been seeking support for the last many years across India to persuade the Parliament of India to amend Article 370 of the Constitution which has been sulking in the Constitution for the past 70 years as a temporary provision. He appealed to the entire countrymen, politicians both friends and foes to support integration of J&K with the rest of the country and why so? |
