Mayor JMC visits Ward No 65, takes stock of people's problems 3/8/2019 10:50:47 PM Early Times Report JAMMU, Mar 8 : Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) Mayor Chander Mohan Gupta today visited Ward No 65 and toured different localities of the area along with Councilor of Ward No 65 Anita Sharma and her supporters. During his whirlwind visit to the ward, the Mayor took stock of the various grievances of the inhabitants of the area particularly in those pockets, which till recently were part of Panchayats and added to the Jammu Municipal limits just before the last elections held for the local bodies. The Mayor along with the Councillor visited Nagbani, Barnai, Upper Barnai, Gurha Brahmana and Patoli Brahmana areas of the ward and held interaction with the prominent citizens as well as common residents of the ward. The main issues which were raised by the locals include black topping of link roads, prevailing sanitation condition, problems related to water and re-modelling of lanes and drains. Speaking on the occasion, a prominent social activist and leading businessman, Subhash Sharma, who happens to be the husband of Councilor Anita Sharma, said that we know that all the issues and problems cannot be addressed instantly particularly confronting those areas which were included in the municipal limits recently adding that it will take some time to create new infrastructure in rural segments of the ward and we need to be patient. However, Sharma laid stress on construction of road leading to a local temple in Nagbani area of the ward. He urged the Mayor to take up the construction work for the road on priority. While addressing the residents of the Ward in different localities, Mayor Chander Mohan Gupta said that the government is committed to holistic development of the city and making rural areas as urban with the provision of all modern amenities and facilities for the residents.   Share This News with Your Friends on Social Network     Comment on this Story
