KUPWARA, Mar 8: The people of Karnah have reiterated their demand of a tunnel at Sadhna Top, which according to them, will solve all their problems. During the winter months, Sadhna pass usually remains closed due to heavy snowfall. The blockade causes immense problems to the people of Karnah. The tunnel, locals said, will lessen road accidents in the area. They said road mioshaps claim scores of precious lives every year.
They said that the Sadna Pass is avalanche prone and, therefore, very dangerous for commuting during winters and summers as well. Locals said that, on regular basis government is sanctioning new projects in Kashmir valley, but the tunnel at Sadhna pass will only remain a dream for the local masses of this border district. Meanwhile, the locals also complained of acute shortage of medicines. |
