PHE leaves Throldi, Kathail villages high & dry | Villagers crave for potable water | | Ashwani Sharma Early Times Report Udhampur, Mar 11: Thanks to the lethargy of the PHE department, the people of village Thlordi, Kathail in district Udhampur are without potable water. Locals said that there was acute shortage of water for the last one month. "We contacted the concerned officers but they said there was some problem with the motors," a village head of Thlordi said adding the officials have been repeating this excuse for several years. A housewife said there was no water for drinking and washing of clothes and utensils. "Even our cattle are suffering for want of water," she said. Rakesh Singh, local said the women have to travel two to three kilometers to fetch potable water. Locals of the village have appealed to the Governor, Satya Pal Malik and deputy commissioner Udhampur Piyush singla to immediately look into the matter. When contacted, PHE XEn Ajay gupta said that he will look into the matter personally . |
