| Panchayat Deptt to construct 200 bunkers for border people | | |

Poonch, Mar 11: The Panchayat department has plans to construct two hundred more bunkers in sensitive border areas of district falling close to LOC and prone to cross border shelling and indiscriminate firing, sources said here today.
Sources said in sensitive areas falling close to LOC in this side of Poonch including Mandi , Krishna Ghati , Mendhar and Balakote sectors will have news 200 concrete bunkers to be constructed by the Panachayat department.
However people alleged that the department has to construct 40 bunkers which were supposed to be constructed in last year but await completion. They also alleged that the department does not consider the view of locals during the construction of bunkers but follows the diktats of blue eyed people who have approach in power corridors they added.
Locals also leveled allegations of use of sub standard material in the construction work. They added that no official turns up at the site to monitor construction works.
Balakotte Youth Front Chairman Zaheer Khan urged the district authorities to make efforts to construct the new zoo concrete bunkers on priority besides bunkers which have not been completed in last year construction should also be completed immediately as border skirmishes were continue to haunt the people along LoC , he added. |
