Jammu, Mar 11: Central Ground Water Board Ministry of Water Resources, River Development and Ganga Rejuvenation Jammu organised 3 day training programme on the theme "Ground Water Development and Management and Local Issues" at Jal Bhawan PHE Narwal Jammu Ashok Gandotra, Chief Engineer PHE Jammu was the Chief Guest and Dinesh Ganvir, Deputy Director General; GSI Jammu was the Guest of Honour. Ashok Kumar, Head of Office Central Ground Water Board, Jammu highlighted the overall ground water scenario of J&K State and which scientific techniques should be adopted to protect ground water resources of J&K State. The main objective of the programme was to impart training to engineers and district level officers and research scholars regarding water management. The lectures have been designed to cover all the aspects of water resource management. Lectures on Basics Hydrogeology of Ground Water and Water Management, Ground Water Scenario and Hydro geological conditions of J&K state, Ground water Quality, Hydro geological Problems in J&K state, Watershed Management, GIS & Remote Sensing and its application in Ground Water Management, Water Conservation, Quantification of Ground Water, Geophysical Techniques in Ground Water Management, Rain Water Harvesting & Artificial Recharge to Ground Water was delivered in 3 days training programme. Besides, there were field demonstration and discussions with trainees during technical session wherein all the problems and issues in their respective areas were discussed and the remedial measures to be taken were discussed in detail. The power point presentation was delivered by Ashok Kumar Head of Office, Rayees Ahmad Pir, Sudheer Kumar, V.N Negi, Jitesh Tatiwal, S. Bhatnagar, Himesh Pandiya - Scientists of Central Ground Water Board Jammu. A guest lecture was presented by expert from the state, central government department. |
