Army soldier's charred body recovered from camp | | | Early Times Report Kupwara, Mar 15: The charred body of an army soldier was found inside 175 Territorial Army regiment camp at Panzgam in north Kashmir's Kupwara district on Friday. A police official said that they received a call from the TA regiment that one TA personnel has died in a suspicious state within the army camp. A police team rushed to the spot and recovered the charred body from the army unit and took it to Sub-district hospital Kupwara for autopsy. A police official identified the deceased army man as 31-year-old Mushtaq Ahmad Pir (Belt number 32009) son of Mohammad Yaseen resident of Maidan Chowgul village in Handwara. The official said that the investigation is going on at 175 TA regiment camp in the incident. "The cause of his death will be revealed after proper investigation of the case," said the official adding, the body was handed to his legal heirs for the last rites. Meanwhile, hundreds of locals joined the last rites of Mushtaq Ahmad in his native village Maidan Chowgul. Locals descended to his home when the news spread in the area that he was found dead, "We don't understand how this happen, he was a courageous man," said a local Rafiq Ahmad. Mushtaq left behind his wife whom he married in November last year besides his two brothers and old age parents. "He was the sole bread earner for his family, government should compensate to his family as they are living a poor life," Rafiq added. |
