AB Sharma Early Times Report Katra, Mar 15: Locals have alleged that the contractors, involved in the construction of 13 kilometers long Tarr-Pajwal road, have been using boulders in construction of drains. The Tarr-Pajwal road was sanctioned under Prime Minister Grameen Sadak Yojna in 2016-17 with estimated cost of Rs. 13.60 Crores. "The main contractor who had got the tender has sub-let the works to local contractors, who have been using boulders in construction of drains, which is in violation of norms", the locals said, adding that under PMGSY guidelines, gravel, Bazri and cement should be used by contractor and not boulders. "In all the drains, maximum of stones have been used with active connivance of engineers and well as contractors", a local leader said, adding that if Union government has been spending money, then why such funds have been misused. Locals appealed vigilance department to enquire the irregularities. JE PMGSY Krishan Lal assured that he would visit the spot and took proper action if required. |
