BIS Jammu organizes awareness programme on BOS | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Mar 15: The Office of Banking Ombudsman RBI in collaboration with the British International School, Jammu conducted an awareness programme on Banking Ombudsman Scheme (BOS) and Ombudsman Scheme for Digital Transactions. The programme was presided over by P Shimrah, Banking Ombudsman and Ombudsman for Digital Transactions for J&K. H S Verma, Secretary, OBO/ODT was also present. Gita Sharma the Chairperson, teachers, staff members attended the programme. P Shimrah deliberated on the importance of financial freedom, in his inaugural speech. He emphasized the importance of knowing where the money comes from and where it goes, spending money wisely which means having a budget, saving money and investing wisely. He warned the audience against investing in Get Quick Rich Schemes and mentioned that generally wealth is created in stages and small steps. He said that Banking Ombudsman Scheme which is for common man is a highly successful scheme and informed the audience that last year more than 1.64 lakh complaints were redressed within average time of 2 to 3 months. He further explained that the procedure of filing complaints under the BO Scheme is very easy and grievance redressal in a fair and efficient manner is assured. |
