| One held with poppy straw, charas | | | Jammu, Masr 24: Continuing its efforts against the drug menace under operation 'Sanjeevan'i, District Police Jammu arrested a drug peddler at Rabta with charas and poppy straw, last night.
Police spokesman said that a police party led by SHO Gharota-Inspector Rajinder Sharma and HC Som Dutt of Gharota police station while conducting routine checking of vehicles, stopped a Tata Mobile bearing registration number JK14E-7094.
"On search of the said vehicle, around 780 gram of poppy straw was recovered," said spokesman adding that further, on search of the passenger, namely, Liaqat Ali, of Sarote Teh Bhalwal, Jammu, 11.5 gram of charas were recovered from his possession and the said person has been arrested. The search for the other accused in the matter is presently underway.
In this connection, a case under FIR no. 25/2019 under section 8/15/20 NDPS Act has been registered at Gharota police station and investigation has been initiated. |
