Early Times Report treva (arnia), Mar 25: To encourage border dwellers to educate their wards, students of Government Higher Secondary School Treva on Monday launched enrollment campaign in Treva village situated on the Zero-Line of the International Border (IB). Today's enrollment campaign was part of the enrollment drive already launched in the border areas of Jammu district. Staff members of the school along with students started door to door campaign in Treva village to encourage people to enroll their children in the government schools. Principal of the school, R G Dogra, while interacting with border villagers, highlighted importance of education. He further informed the villagers that government is providing free education to the students especially girls. The people were made aware about the facilities given to students in the Government schools like free admission for girls, free books, free uniforms,Mid day meal etc. Important to mention here that the government has issued an order to start enrollment drive in different areas. According to circular issued by Chief Education Officers (CEOs) of different district, Head Masters, Zonal Education Officers (ZEOs) and Principals have been asked to depute teachers and masters of their school locality and responsibility be imposed upon them that each teacher/master will being ten student each for the admission in the new academic session 2019-20.
