Jammu, Mar 29: Commissioner, JMC Vikas Sharma, took a meeting of Solid Waste Management where among Pardeep Singh (KAS), Joint Commissioner (A), Jaspal Singh, Joint Commissioner (W), Dr. Zaffar Iqbal, Nodal Officer, SWM, Er. Talat Mehmood, A.E.E (Transport), Darshan Abrol, Sanitation Officer, JMC and Mr. Sanjay, Consultant of the Solid Waste Management was also present. After reviewing the progress of the work Commissioner, JMC highlighted that for purpose of sanitation some of the wards shall be outsourced to give better results and in these wards sweeping and other sanitation activities like door to door collection in segregated manner shall be carried out and all the people have been aware to segregate the garbage material into two parts i.e organic and inorganic (wet & dry waste) so that their disposal is made accordingly. The existing SKCs from these outsource wards shall be withdrawn and assigned the other sanitation uncovered wards so that the whole of the Jammu City is neat and clean. The Commissioner, JMC also issued directions to H.O, A.E.E (transport) to always make clean on the existing garbage collection centres in different locations of the City. He also directed Joint Commissioner (A) to make liaison with the Pollution Control Board, General Manager, DIC, Joint Director (Industries) and Excise Deptt., Lakhanpur to have a proper check on the supply of Polythene carry bags and plastic items which is banned and should not transported anywhere. The consultant pertaining to SWM was also directed to submit the DPR for sanitation work for outsource within a weeks time. |
