JAMMU, Mar 29: Annual sports meet of Sant Mela Singh College of Education,Digiana-Jammu was held on the college grounds wherein S. Bhupinder Singh(DIG-Rtd.), Chairman, Guru Harkrishan Public School was the Chief Guest and Dr. Amar Singh, Chairman, MBS College of Engineering and Technology was the Guest of Honour. Prof. Anmol Singh, chairman of the college presided over the function. Lauding the efforts of the college in promotion of physical education, chief guest congratulated the students for showing the sportsman spirit on the playgrounds which is part and parcel of teacher education and overall personality development of a young person. Prominent among others present on the occasion were Dr. S.P.S Dutta (Professor Emeritus) of Jammu University and Prof. Hardev Singh (Editor- Sikh Sandesh) as special invities. Various indoor and outdoor games & sport events were held which included 100 mtr. Race, Lemon & spoon race, Filling up the bottles, Ballon Burst Race ,Tug of war, Teacher game, Carrom, Chess and Table Tennis. Winners of different events were as under Manisha Saini, Harleen Kour and Manpreet Kour stood first, second & third in lOOmtr. race, Suman Banihal and Priyanka were first & second in lemon & spoon race whereas in filling up the bottles, Harpreet Kour, Rinkle stood first, second & Priyanka stood third. In Ballon Brust race Monika stood first, Mainsha Saini stood second, Harleen Kour stood third. Shivali Padwal was the winner in chess, Harleen Kour and Jasmeen Kour were the winner in carrom. In Minor games for boys Jaswinder Singh,Bharat and Suresh Shukla stood first, second & third respectively. In Tug of war team A was the winner. A "m game of Musical Chair was also organized for teachers. Earlier Principal of the College, Dr. Kiran Luthra welcomed the guest and highlighted the importance of sports activities. Prof. Jasmeet Kour, convener sports activities organized the sports events under the able guidance of Physical Instructor S. Daljeet Singh. The programme was anchored and vote of thanks was moved by Prof. Charanjeet Kour. The programme concluded with the singing of National Anthem. |
