Early Times Report Jammu, Mar 29: The State Taxes Department, Jammu conducted surprise inspection of M/s Aum Trading Co. Muthi, Jammu and Jai Durga Trading Co. Muthi, Jammu. The inspection was carried on the directions of P. K Bhat, Commissioner, State Taxes, J&K. A high level team visited the premises of both the firms and conducted physical inspection. While conducting inspection it was noticed that huge sales had been suppressed by the dealers. Subsequently, all the records of the firms were seized by the inspection team. On scrutiny of the record of M/s Aum Trading Co, it was found that concerned had made a total sale of Rs. Four crore fourteen lakh and fifteen thousand during the current financial year attracting total tax of Rs. Fifty eight lakhs and eight nine thousands. Out of which the concerned has deposited Rs. Twenty three lacs only till February, 2019 thus evading tax amount of Rs. Thirty five lakhs and eighty six thousands. The department has started the process of issuing demand notice under the relevant process of GST Law, 2017 against the evader. The total tax and penalty recoverable from the dealer under the GST Law shall be Rs. Seventy one lakh and seventy three thousands. Meanwhile, the records of M/s Durga Trading Co. are also being scrutinized vis-à-vis the sales shown by the concerned in his GST return. Huge variation has been noticed in his case as well. The figures are being calculated and all necessary action under law shall be taken against said firm also. The inspection team conducted whole exercise under supervision and direction of Mohammad Shahid Saleem, Additional Commissioner, State Taxes (Adm. & Enf.), Jammu. The team comprised Naresh Koul, Ashwani, STOs and Inspectors including Sonia Singh, Waseem, Sukrit, Anmol, Rohit, Abhishek, Raj Martand, Paramjeet Singh, Jagandeep and Manpreet. |
