Writers Forum, Jammu organizes Literary event

JAMMU, Mar 29: Writers' Forum, Jammu today organized a literary event to honour Dr. Shah Nawaz Chowdhary, Urdu and Gojri writer. A multilingual Mushaira was organized on this occasion. Colonel Raaz Manawari, a Dogri writer was the chief guest on this occasion whereas S. Joginder Singh Pandhi, senior Punjabi writer from Kashmir presided over the programme. A large number of intellectuals, writers and artists attended the programme.
Pritpal Singh Betab, veteran Urdu Ghazal writer, chief patron, Writers' Forum welcomed the guests and gave a brief detail of the activities being conducted by Writers forum, Jammu. He also gave an introduction of life and work of Dr. Shah Nawaz Chowdhary and various aspects of creative process of Dr. Shah Nawaz Chowdhary and his contribution in the field of Urdu and Gojri literature.
In his presidential address, Joginder Singh Pandhi congratulated Dr. Shah Nawaz Chowdhary for being honoured on this occasion. He appreciated the endeavours of Writers' Forum and said that such events not only enrich our literary traditions of different languages and show national integration as well as unity in diversity through the events like multilingual Mushaira etc.
Dr. Shah Nawaz Chowdhary and Col. Raj Manawari also expressed their views on this occasion.
The senior and young poets of different regional languages, who recited their poems included Swami Antar Nirav, Dr. Baljit Singh Raina, Jang S. Verman, Varun Veer, Bhupinder Singh Bhargav, Aiyazif, Anu Attri, Ghulam Sarwar, Sham Talib, Amar Singh Kuka, Irfan Aarif, Harjit Sit Uppal, Ameen Banihali, Raaz Manawari, Neelu Thapa, Amarjeet Kaur Neer, Amita Meht, Prof. Nirmal Vinod, Pritpal Singh Betab and Joginder Singh Pandhi.
The themes of the poems revolved around different issues like social, political, value system and hypocrisy prevailing in the contemporary world.
The proceedings of the programme were conducted by Sudhir Mahajan, Patron, Writers' Forum, Jammu. he also extended vote of thanks.
