Jammu, Mar 30: Senior Congress leader Sham Lal Sharma today joined Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) in a function organized at party office at Trikuta Nagar here on Saturday.
In a function organized at party headquarter in Jammu, BJP vice-president and in-charge of party affairs in Jammu and Kashmir, Avinash Rai Khanna, State President Ravinder Raina formally welcomed Sham Lal Sharma into the party fold.
Pertinently there were reports about Sharma joining the BJP before Maha Sankalp rally of the party at village Doomi adjoining Akhnoor but due to some unknown reasons, he missed the occasion. The joining of Sharma will be a big jolt to State Congress for the Lok Sabha election as well as for the upcoming assembly election.
