PC Chief Sajjad Lone Slams Omar Abdullah Over 'separate PM In J&K' Comment, Says 'he Is Lying Through His Teeth
4/1/2019 6:54:07 PM

Mumbai
Sajjad Lone in response slammed Abdullah for 'lying through his teeth' holding him responsible for the erosion of the Article 370.
While speaking over BJP's claims of abolishing the Article 370 and 35A from Jammu and Kashmir, Lone said is 'tantamount to suicide' in the valley

In response to Omar Abdullah's call for a separate 'President and Prime Minister' for Jammu and Kashmir, People's Conference chairman Sajjad Lone has called the NC chief a 'liar', stating that the erosion of Article 370 was the most under the Abdullah leadership, furthermore called BJP's intention to scrap the Article as 'suicidal'

Omar Abdullah's statement comes in retaliation after Amit Shah's claims that stated if the BJP comes to power by 2020 Article 370 and 35A, would be abolished in Jammu and Kashmir.

Sajjad Lone in response slammed Abdullah for 'lying through his teeth' holding him responsible for the erosion of the Article 370.

He said, "It is really unfortunate, I don't want to comment on what Omar says because he lies through his teeth. The erosions have taken place during the NC-Congress tenure. They are the father of all the erosions in Article, how can they say that they will restore the erosion."

While speaking over BJP's claims of abolishing the Article 370 and 35A from Jammu and Kashmir, Lone said is 'tantamount to suicide' in the valley. Furthermore added that non-military measures are needed in Kashmir to restore peace.

He said, "As far as the part about BJP's intentions goes, it is tantamount to suicide Kashmir. It is an article of faith and an article of trust. Even thinking about it is a sin, forget about actually doing it."

"The only option left in Jammu and Kashmir is to understand that military measures cannot help restore peace in Kashmir and its non-military measures it is the opposition, you have to revoke all the erosions done so far and restore Article 370 to its original shape, that is the way out. Talking about abrogating is very irresponsible because there will be blood and I don't think they can control it after that," he added.

Union Minister Arun Jaitley in the past had called Article 35A a 'historic blunder' committed by Jawaharlal Nehru in retaliation to which Omar Abdullah during his address to National Conference workers in a dramatic escalation has called for the state's own Prime Minister and even a Constitution.

He said, "Modi said in an interview that by 2020, we will repeal article 35A. Finance Minister Arun Jaitley had threatened us that Article 35a and Article 370 will be removed, but Jammu and Kashmir is not like the other states. Other states became a part of India without any conditions. We made conditions. We did not come for free."

"To maintain our identity distinct, we entered certain things in the Constitution. We said our identity would be ours, we will have our own law, our own flag. At that time we also had our President and Prime Minister, and we will bring that back," he added.
