Indira Jaising had refused to defend rape accused Talib Hussain | | | Senior lawyer Indira Jaising had announced not to appear on behalf of Hussain in the Supreme Court in view of the fresh allegations against the activist. In a public statement, Jaising said that she was in full support of the #MeToo movement and the allegations made by the JNU student are a sufficient cause for her to withdraw from Hussain's case. Earlier, Jaising had represented Hussain's relative in the Supreme Court, who had filed a petition alleging that the activist was being tortured in custody by the Jammu and Kashmir Police. |
