The trailer was possibly taken down after the Election Commission's order staying the release of the film. In its order, the Election Commission had also mentioned that "any poster or publicity material concerning any such certified content, which either depicts a candidate (including prospective) for the furtherance (or purported to further) of electoral prospect, directly or indirectly, shall not be put to display in electronic media in the area where MCC (model code of conduct) is in operation. (sic)"
The trailer of PM Narendra Modi biopic was unveiled on March 21. Actor Vivek Oberoi, in the trailer, is seen trying an impression of PM Modi. As Modi, Oberoi is seen shouting "Bharat Mata Ki Jai" in the trailer. A dialogue that stood out from the rest in the three-minute trailer is, "Chetavni deta hoon main Pakistan ko. Agar dobara hum par haath uthaya, toh haath kaat doonga."
The makers of the biopic have been battling a lot of problems because of the release date of the film ever since it was announced. The film, which was initially slated to hit the screens on April 12, was brought ahead to April 5, but missed the new release date. After that, the makers announced that they were releasing the film on April 11, but on April 10, the Election Commission put a stay on the release.
Producer Sandip Ssingh told IANS, "We are in a lot of stress. The team is losing confidence, but we hope and pray that we get justice and we release our film. For the first time it has happened that a filmmaker has to go through this."
