Delay in land transfer hampers extension of SDH Hiranagar Rs 57 lakh lapse | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Apr 19: Unlimited delay on part of Education Department to transfer land measuring six Kanals and 10 Maralas to Health Department is hampering extension of Sub District Hospital (SDH), Hiranagar. Moreover, the Union government allotted Rs 57 lac for extension of existing wards but funds have due to non utilusation. "Years back, the Union government under NHM allotted funds for up-gradation of said hospital and in this regard a DPR has been prepared by Health Department wherein some adjacent quarter to existing wards would be demolished but due to unlimited delay, the extension of SDH is withheld", sources said. They informed Early Times that all the formalities regarding transfer of land has been completed and now the file is lying in the civil secretariat and the education department would take the final call. It is pertinent to mention here that the up-gradation of Sub District Hospital (SDH) Hiranagar from 30 bedded to 100 bedded which was announced in finical year 2013-14, thereafter many years has been lapsed, the health department seems least bothered about it. "For the extension of existing hospital from 30 bedded to 100 bedded, the health department proposed acquired 6 Kanal land from Government Higher Secondary School, Hiranagar and some old staff quarters was to be dismantled but same could not see the daylight resulting lapse of funds", informed sources while wishing anonymity. However, the issue of upgradation took serious turn during the tenure of Choudhary Lal Singh the then Health Minister but after change of guard at ministry level, the then health ministers either Bali Bhagat and Darvinder Manwal never heed into matter, resulting, the file gathering the cupboard and nobody seems bothered about it. |
