Early Times Report
Jammu, Apr 19: The in-charge Zonal Education Officer (ZEO) Ukhral in Ramban district has come under scanner for violating the Model Code of Conduct (MCC) by purportedly transferring, attaching a number of RETs/RRETs and teachers.
A complaint, a copy of which in possession of Early Times, states that the ZEO transferred/attached large number of 'blue-eyed' RETs/RRETs and teachers to the place of their choice in open violation of laid norms rules and regulation, and the process continued when the MCC had been put in place.
In this complaint it has been alleged money was collected in the name of official documents' verification from grade II teachers and most teachers paid for it but no receipt was given to any of them.
It also states that all has happened in the office by corrupt malpractices. Complainant said no satisfactory reply was given by the concerned official. The students where such transfers and attachments have been made are suffering very badly and the teaching process is completely ignored.
It further states as the teachers whose posting was made in far flung area of Zone Ukhral have been verbally attached to the school/office of their choice resulting deficiency of staff and worsening education system. As well as 70 percent schools in said area are running under verbal transfers and attachments of teachers that has caused huge suffering of needy students.
The locals along with teachers demanded physical verification of all such verbally transferred teachers.
CEO Ramban Abdul Hamid Fani said that due to Lok Sabha elections, he was not aware of such complaint.
When asked that the Directorate of School Education had intimated Governor Grievance Cell by referring an order vide letter no DSEJ/MJ/14378-80 dated 16-04-2019 that the CEO Ramban be asked to conduct in-depth enquiry in this case, CEO Ramban replied that if such order has been issued then enquiry would be conducted.
