PHE employees demand regularisation, release of pending wages | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Apr 22: The PHE Joint Employees Association on Monday staged a protest here in demanding release of their long pending wages and regularisation of their services under SRO 520. Scores of protesters from various districts of Jammu Province assembled here chanting slogans "we want justice", "we want regularisation" and "Release our earned pending wages". The protesting employees said that government is doing sheer injustice with them for not releasing their pending wages from the last 60 months. President of All J&K PHE ITI Trainded, CP and Land Doners work Association Tanveer Ahmed said the wages of daily wagers, casual labourers, land donors and ITI workers are pending with the department from last 60months. "We are demanding the government to release our pending wages and regularisation of services under SRO 520," he said. "We are facing a lot of financial crisis due to which the studies of our children have been worst affected. We are unable to pay the schooling fee of our children," he said. He said the government is spending crores of rupees on the schemes in PHE department in which they are presently working. "But it is unfortunate the wages of the employees have not been released who are running these schemes across the valley," he added. |
