Play “Mujrim Mai Nahi Par Mujrim Mai Hi Hu” staged in Natya Utsav | | | Jammu, April 23: Vomedh Rangmanch today staged play "Mujrim Mai Nahi Par Mujrim Mai Hi Hu" written by Rakesh Roshan Bhat and directed by Rohit Bhat in Natya Utsav – 6 day theatrical festival to legendary iconic figure of the State Late Sh. Kavi Rattan Sharma at Abhinav Theatre today. Amateur Theatre Group in co-ordination with Unison Cultural Troupe is organizing this theatrical delight to bring outstanding plays for theatre loving audience of the state. This play "Mujrim Mai Nahi Par Mujrim Mai Hi Hu" has been already staged at various theatre festival viz. Delhi, NCR, Jammu, Mumbai and other parts of country. The socio cultural values have been treated so well that the audience in hall felt that it was their story that came alive on stage. “Mujrim Mae Nahi Par Mujrim Mae Hee Hun" is the story of Vinod Kumar son of a widow mother whose husband died at very young age. Vinod's mother is not educated to work in an office so the only way left for her to take care of Vinod is to work in others houses as a house help. Vinod has to move to green pastures to earn money. He works hard gives his mother a house to live in providing modern facilities but is not with her to take care of her failing health. Although he pays his mother a visit on all occasions whenever a leave is available but his mother is lonely at home. One fine morning he gets a phone call from police station that his mother has passed away. He rushes home to the scene of tragedy but he is confronted by a police Inspector who wants Vinod to accept that his mother died of neglect and loneliness. At first Vinod is adamant that he is not responsible for his mother’s death, but after cremating his mother, he is traumatized at the thought of his mother being the victim of neglect and loneliness in her advanced age. Vinod Kumar files a petition pleading guilty of his mother’s death in the court of law. The case is treated on humanitarian grounds by Judge Niyem Tripathi. He takes it on the lines of “Aap Ki Adalat” and is able to help Vinod Kumar to get free of his guilt feeling. The characters who portrayed their performances on stage were Jatinder Jyotshi, Vinay Pandita, Rajni Bhatti, Shivam Kaul, Abhay, Himagani, Ramesh Pandita and Rajat Sharma. Make up by Shammi Dhamir, costumes by Bharti Kaul, property by Sharthak & Owais and hall management was executed by Daizy Bazaz, Priya and Suman.
