World Malaria Day observed | | | Early Times Report RAMBAN, Apr 25: To celebrate the World Malaria Day, District Information Centre (DIC), Ramban organized a symposium at DISHA Institute of Paramedical & Nursing Science, Ramban here today. Chairman of the Institute Hilal Wani was the chief guest on the occasion. As many as 12 students of the Institute participated in the symposium on the topic "Importance of good health" and expressed their valuable view on the topic. Speakers suggested several techniques and ideas for good health. Rabia Bano was declared best speakers in the symposium and Roufia Akhter and Tamana Devi secured second and third positions respectively. Speaking on the occasion chief guest highlighted the importance of good health and stressed on taking precautionary measures to avoid malaria for healthy life. He further said that to achieve good health, we as individual should know the proper steps in nurturing ourselves. "We need to be able to take care of ourselves in order to know how to take care others" he added. He maintained that knowing to take the right meals, eat healthy food, drink the proper amount of water and get the right hours of sleep are the basic things that we need to master. Head of the Institute thanked the Information department Ramban for organizing such a programme in the Institute. Besides this competition, a colourful cultural programme was also presented by the artists and students. Later, certificates and trophies were distributed among the best performers. |
