Early Times Report
Jammu, Apr 25: To protest government's failure in preventing the lives of the minority community in Kishtwar district, the Sanathan Dharam Sabha Kishtwar has called for a protest march on Saturday, April 27. As per the details available with "Early Times", the Sabha held a meeting under the presidentship of Hans Raj Bhutyal in which the participants showed anger over the failure of the police in arresting the culprits involved in the killing of RSS leader Chanderkant Sharma and his PSO Rajinder Kumar. During the meeting, it was resolved that "the minority community of district Kishtwar under the aegis of Sanathan Dharam Sabha Kishtwar has resolved to organize a protest march against the Governor's administration on April 27 at 11 am. The march will start from Char Chinar to DC Office complex". The participants showed their concern at the selective killings in Kishtwar during last five months which have shaken the confidence of the minority community. The police and administrative set up at Kishtwar, despite the instructions from the Centre, has turned a deaf ear towards the happenings at Kishtwar. They unanimously resolved to demand immediate handing over Kishtwar to army and declaring it as disturbed area so that an all out operation on the pattern of Kashmir valley could be started in the district. They also demanded setting up a permanent battalion of J&K Rifles, SOG at Kishtwar to tackle militancy, CRPF bunkers at all vulnerable points in Kishtwar town and its outskirts commonly known as mandal, installation of CCTV cameras in the town, strengthening of VDCs and SPOs, fencing of the premises of District Hospital Kishtwar and setting up a police picket thereupon and immediate replacement of DC and SSP Kishtwar. |
