VRS employees hold dharna, demand settlement of pending issues | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Apr 27: A demonstration and dharna was observed by VRS Union near Press Club of Jammu Jammu under the leadership of Dev Raj Bali. The protesting VRS employees strongly condemned and criticized the attitude of the state government and Transport Department authorities. They said that the department authorities were approached a number of times who assured them that before the movement of darbar our case will be settled but sorry to state it has not been resolved. VRS /GHS employees are demanding for their dues for the last more than 8 years and are struggling for our 50% balance payments of our legitimate dues for Cost of Living Allowance (COLA) arrears, bill of which comes to Rs 16,76,49,497 and 6th pay commission arrears and bonus @8.33%. The protesters said that it is strange that why their balance dues are not being released whereas in all respects the bills are prepared and laying pending in the office of the Finance Department Civil Secretariat, Jammu. And in this long struggle 39 VRS/GHS employees have breathed their last as they could not afford good medical treatment for want of funds. They appealed to Advisor to Governor to take up their case in the coming board of directors meeting so that they may also get justice. |
