Set Back for BJP as Muslim Morcha leader resigns | | |
Asif Iqbal Naik Early Times Report Jammu, April 27: In a major setback to BJP, senior Muslim Morcha leader from Kishtwar resigned from the party Saturday citing failure of the party in addressing public issues and fulfiling the promises made during 2014 elections. As per the details available with Early Times, BJP Muslim Morcha District General Secretary Mohammad Ashraf Mir today announced his resignation from the party during a Press Conference at his Bunastan tesidence. He said that he along with other prominent Muslim faces joined the BJP in 2014 with the main motive to be the part of the development in Kishtwar District. He said that he traveled in many Muslim majority areas of Kishtwar District including Marwah, Warwan, Nagsini, Trigam, Melan and other areas to garner support for Dr Jatindra Singh and later for Sunil Sharma wherein the party made several promises with the people of Kishtwar District. He said that all the promises made by the party with the people including addressing the water scarcity problem in Kishtwar town and its peripheral areas remain unfulfilled yo this day. He said he is left with no other option but to disassociate himself from the BJP. It is pertinent to mention that Mohammad Ashraf Mir also unsuccessfully contested the Municipal Committee Election on BJP ticket from Ward No9 of Kishtwar Municipality while his sister in law also unsuccessfully contested the Election on BJP ticket from Ward No. 1. More leaders from BJP Muslim Morcha are expected to resign from the party in coming days. |
