Ensure better amenities for Amarnath Pilgrims: Raman Suri urges Guv | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Apr 27: Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Raman Suri today urged Governor Satya Pal Malik who is also chairman of Shri Amarnath Ji Shrine Board (SASB) to ensure adequate arrangements for pilgrimages bound for cave shrine of Shri Amarnath at all places in Jammu, Srinagar, Pahalgam, Baltal and at centres meant for their stay. He said that rains play a spoilsport at Baltal where vehicles get stuck and people face hardships. Appreciating SASB for taking up various measures during past few years that have brought in a sea change in the way annual pilgrimage used to be conducted, Raman Suri today said that there's always a scope for improvement. He said on the pattern of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board (SMVDSB) the SASB should also plan free langar for pilgrims in addition to the groups and Mandals who organize free food facilities all along the route right from Punjab, Haryana, Srinagar to Baltal and Pahalgam. Raman Suri said that certain items like gas cylinders should be provided to the organizers comfortably and at reasonable rates. He added that adequate security arrangements should also be made all along the routes. He urged government to ensure proper hygiene at Jammu and other places so that pilgrims don't face any inconvenience during this Yatra period. Suri urged the government to regularly update the pilgrims with weather conditions so that they plan their trekking accordingly. |
