Early Times Report
Jammu, May 2: A local court today rejected the bail application of an accused in a case of theft that took place in March this year. Sub-Judge Jammu, Pawan Kumar Sharma, after hearing Advocate Bushan Singh Charak for the applicant, and Senior PO Puja Nijhon for the state, observed that the complainant had lodged a report regarding theft of Rs 70,000 from his house. The incident took place on 08.03.2019 while the police arrested the accused after more than one month, "which means that the arrest has been made after thorough investigation." "The fact that accused (Sunit Sharma @ Kaka, son of Prabhdayal, of Nathal Tehsil Khrawali district) and complainant are close relatives has shaken my conscience, and offence became more grave because it is not only theft but the faith in the relatives has also shaken. The amount involved in the case is huge and no recovery has been effected yet," the court observed, adding that under these circumstances, no leniency can be shown to the accused and the application in hand is dismissed. |
