Poonch, May 5: Looking at the present scenario of poor sanitation and hygiene in District Hospital Poonch, it appears that these hospitals have rather turned into breeding ground for viruses and bacteria, a source of epidemics etc.
Wards are infested with cats, the floors and corners of the rooms are spilled with sputum, and the operation theatres without any waiting facility, chit-chat and gossip while knitting and discussing household chores are routine while the patient is being operated in vintage and poorly-equipped OTs.
Deserted duty and reception desks, dozing paramedic staff are other hihhlughts of this hospital.
The locals have urged the authorities to maintain some protocol for wearing of uniforms, colour coding of dustbins, bilingual instructional boards and impose fine for non adherence of regulations. |
