Indian fuel price: Petrol prices reduce; diesel remains stagnant on Monday | | | New Delhi, May 6 Petrol prices reduced marginally on Monday while diesel rates remain unchanged.
Petrol prices decreased in the range of 5 to 7 paise per litre.
In Delhi, petrol retails at Rs 73.00 per litre as compared to yesterday's price of Rs 73.07 p/l while diesel costs Rs 66.66 p/l.
In Mumbai, people have to shell out Rs 78.59 for a litre of petrol as against Sunday's 78.66 p/l and diesel retails at Rs 69.81 p/l.
According to Indian Oil Corporation website, petrol and diesel cost Rs 75.04 p/litre and Rs 68.40 a litre.
Similarly, in Chennai, petrol is retailing at Rs 75.79 per litre, a seven paise decrease from yesterday and diesel costs Rs 70.43 a litre.
In Noida, petrol is available at a price of Rs 72.85 per litre and diesel costs Rs 65.80 a litre.
In Gurgaon, petrol is being sold for Rs 72.34 a litre and diesel Rs 65.72 p/l.
As per the country’s dynamic pricing mechanism, the domestic fuel prices depend upon International fuel prices on a 15-day average and the value of the rupee.
The price of the two fuels retailing at the petrol pumps is calculated after adding central excise duty, dealers commission and value-added tax (VAT) to the base price.
The prices are revised at 0600 hrs daily, while earlier it used to be revised every fortnight
