Jammu, May 8: Tawi Trekkers decided to organize only one Himalayan Trekking Programme in Himachal Pradesh with the first group of 45 students of Oriental Academy Sr. Secondary School, Jammu leaving for Dharamshala on 1st June, 2019. During this programme in which about 500 boys and girls in the age group of 10 to 14 years are expected to participate the trekkers shall trek to Bhagshu Nag, Water fall, Gallu temple, Dharamkot (mini Israel) Dal Lake and shall also visit Dalai Lama temple in Macleodganj, Dharamshala Cricket Stadium, Tapovan,, Chamunda Devi and Nagini Devi. The highlight of the programme shall, however, be a visit to a tea garden and a tea manufacturing company where they shall learn the complete process of production of tea. Whereas Shawetica Khajuria, the General Secretary of the club is the Organising Secretary the team of field directors, escorts and camp leaders comprises of trained mountaineers Shashi Kant Sharma, Manik Slathia, Sunil Chakharia, Deepika Dutta, Sakshi Magotra, Sourav Deep Singh, Mrigank Kaushal, Ambreen Fatima, Shilpa Charak and many other escorts certified by Indian Mountaineering Foundation, New Delhi, the apex body for adventure sports in the country. The programme is being organized in cooperation with J&K State Sports Council, Mountaineering Association of J&K, Ibex Adventure Club, Samba, J&K Mountaineering and Allied Sports Club, Sprawling Buds ICSE School, Bantalab, Jammu and Adventure Holidays India, Sarwal, Jammu. |
